IN O&M Tool System is becoming a business management tools used to visually ascertain the status (or “health”) of a business enterprise via key business indicators. Digital monitoring use visual, at-a-glance displays of data pulled from IN node to provide warnings, action notices and summaries of business condition based on real data from costumer network elements. This IN O&M Tool System should become extremely useful tools for the operational and early warning system for any failure with visual information of the IN network. In addition to the main functionality mentioned IN Monitoring System will provides alarming and reporting function to make the operational job become more effective and efficient. Immediate action is necessary to respond any disturbance which come unpredictable to all Network Element IN. The idea is any problem in IN somehow should be identified by maintenance staff as early as possible.
IN O&M Tool System is created as a tool to speedup solving problem time by giving current traffic (visual graphic and almost real time) and notification by online mode regarding problem/error which occurred in IN Environment.
IN Operation & Maintenance Tool System that has been developed by PT. Netwave Teknologi is three tiers web based application using ORACLE and JAVA Programming Language as back end process and J2EE as front end.
IN Operation & Maintenance Tool System which has architecture capability to process and manage up to 500 nodes.
Global Business Process
Global business process of IN O&M Tool System is consisting Data Collection from SCP, SDP & CCN to the production server, Parser and Loader into database, Display administration from Personal Computer via Web Service and Dispatch the graphical display into wide screen LCD TV as shown in the following figure.

System Architecture
IN Operation and Maintenance Tool System architecture is modular based application which consists of:
Parser, convert log file’s original format to delimited text format
Loader, insert formatted data log into ORACLE database
Viewer, display data log into graphical line chart
Control Panel, administration module to configure the application:
- Audit Trail: Records all or desired action conducted by application’s user, the benefit of audit trail is to provide system logs to investigate unexpected event and maintenance staff KPI.
- Alert Management: Provide the ability to trigger alert / notification by online mode about the status of all NE in IN Environment (Vendor), performance indicator exceeds threshold. The threshold is user configurable to suit costume requirement. Alert can be delivered via SMS, email and sound alert device (alarm or speaker).
- Housekeeping: Recognizing the limit of system storage, it provides housekeeping functions that will maintain system storage from being fully occupied and preventing system crash. The application uses Graphical User Interface to allow system administrator configure the housekeeping functions easily while minimizing human error.
User Management: Allows system administrator to create, remove and maintain user role and privileges.
Viewer Configuration: Provide the ability to set up parameters which is related to View/Display such us:
- setting number of group on each LCD TV.
- setting refresh rate.
- setting date to display (current traffic or history), this functionality allows user to use the application interactively.
